This seminar is for you if…

…you are a teacher or a member of staff at a general education school, a vocational education and training provider or an adult education organisation, and you want to submit your organisation’s first KA122 application or apply again with the right preparation.

Your organisation has never participated in Erasmus+.

KA122 is the entry point to Erasmus+ for schools and organisations with no previous experience of the Programme. The seminar teaches you how to write a complete, well-supported application that meets the award criteria.

You want your project to address real needs.

Mobility activities are not built on isolated ideas but on the real needs of the teachers and learners in each organisation. You learn to investigate and document these needs and turn them into objectives and learning outcomes that strengthen your whole organisation: the education it offers, its outward-looking orientation and its internationalisation.

Your application was not selected for funding.

Applications are usually not selected because they do not clearly address what each question and award criterion requires. The seminar shows you how an evaluator reads an application and how to write one tailored to the needs of your organisation.

What your participation includes

  • 16 hours of online training

The seminar takes place over four afternoons via Zoom and combines clear, detailed theory with practical exercises on the different sections of the application.

  • E-workshops in small groups

In each e-workshop, you work with other participants on hypothetical application examples based on real cases and present your group’s results to all participants.

  • Extra

    The seminar's Padlet

The Padlet brings together Erasmus+ Programme guides, application-writing checklists and useful links. Once you register, you can access all the materials and save them to your computer. Access remains active until one week after the seminar ends.

  • Extra

One-hour Q&A session before the submission deadline

About two weeks before the submission deadline, you meet the trainer online for one hour, and he answers the questions you have sent in advance about your own application.

  • Certificate of attendance

When you complete the seminar, you receive your certificate of attendance by email, at the address you provided when you registered.

After 16 hours, you will be able to:

  • understand the Erasmus quality standards for Key Action 1 and explain in practical terms how your application will meet them.

  • read your application from an evaluator’s perspective.

  • document your organisation’s needs with evidence.

  • write complete, measurable objectives that directly address your organisation’s needs.

  • set valid and appropriate indicators to measure whether your objectives have been achieved.

  • select suitable mobility activities for learners and staff that directly address your organisation's objectives and needs.

The seminar programme by day

The first two days focus mainly on theory and the last two on practical group exercises, so that each day builds on the previous one.

  1. 1
    Day 1Monday 30 November18:00–22:00 (Athens time)

The theoretical framework and the Erasmus quality standards

On the first day, you learn what Key Action 1 is, what the KA122 application requires and what commitments your organisation takes on under the Erasmus quality standards.

    Theory

    • Participants get to know each other and the expected learning outcomes of the seminar are presented.
    • The theoretical framework of Key Action 1 is presented, with a focus on the KA122 application.
    • The Erasmus quality standards and the commitments undertaken by the applicant organisation are analysed.

    Practical exercises

    • You work with hypothetical examples of correct and incorrect practice and answer comprehension questions on both Key Action 1 and the Erasmus quality standards.
  2. 2
    Day 2Tuesday 1 December18:00–22:00 (Athens time)

The KA122 application and categorising needs

The second day focuses on the KA122 application itself: the online application form is presented first, followed by a question-by-question analysis with a suggested answer structure for each question.

    Theory

    • The online application form is presented.
    • Each question of the application is analysed, with a suggested answer structure and its links to the award criteria.

    Practical exercises

    • In e-workshop 1, you and your group assess the findings of a needs analysis for a hypothetical organisation. You then group them into thematic areas of challenges and needs for each category of participants.
    • Each group presents its worksheet to all participants, followed by discussion.
  3. 3
    Day 3Wednesday 2 December18:00–22:00 (Athens time)

    Measuring success and planning activities

The third day is devoted entirely to practical exercises on several key sections of the application.

    Practical exercises

    • In e-workshop 2, you set clear, measurable indicators to check whether the objectives of the application have been achieved.
    • In e-workshop 3, you match needs with types of activities, host organisations or course providers and expected learning outcomes.
    • The groups present the results of their work to all participants, followed by discussion.
  4. 4
    Day 4Thursday 3 December18:00–22:00 (Athens time)

Writing the project objectives and concluding the seminar

On the fourth day, you draw on everything you have learnt to write complete objectives based on the needs of hypothetical organisations, which form the foundation of the whole application.

    Theory

    • All the steps of the application are reviewed.

    Practical exercises

    • In e-workshop 4, you write complete objectives using hypothetical needs data: the objective statement, a description of its content, its connection to needs and ways of measuring its success.
    • Each group presents its worksheet to all participants.
    • The seminar concludes with final questions and discussion.

What participants say about this seminar

«Mr Barmpas's seminar was very useful, with substantial and practical advice at every step of implementing the KA122 application for our school, the 1st General Upper Secondary School of Kaisariani. Specifically, we scored 99/100 and came fifth out of 238 applications. Following your instructions closely helped us a great deal. Mr Barmpas, thank you very much.»
«The seminar I attended was very interesting and informative, with many useful details. Above all, though, it gave me confidence and encouragement to write the application. Many, many congratulations.»
«An excellent seminar. Mr Barmpas is an outstanding speaker and trainer. The examples were extremely informative. As someone with no experience of the programme, he helped me understand the process from the ground up.»
