Via ZoomJoin from wherever you are.
16 hours over 4 afternoonsThe seminar combines detailed theory with practical exercises on every section of the KA240 application.

This seminar is for you if…

…you are a member of staff at a local or regional school authority or a school coordination body and you want to lead a European Partnership for School Development (KA240), or you are a teacher or a member of staff at a general education school or at an association of teachers, school leaders or parents that will take part in such a partnership.

You represent a school authority or a school coordination body and want to lead a project to develop the schools in your area.

Only a local or regional school authority or a school coordination body can apply, and each organisation can coordinate only one application per deadline. The partnership lasts thirty-six months, receives a lump sum of €400,000 and involves at least six organisations. In the applicant's country and in at least one other country, at least one school authority or coordination body and at least two general education schools must take part. In the seminar, you learn the rules of the action and the role the partnership coordinator takes on.

Your school will take part in a KA240 partnership and you want to know what it is taking on.

Partner schools must have a clear and proportional role in the partnership, and the evaluator checks whether the allocation of tasks shows the continuous active involvement of all organisations. In the seminar, you learn how work packages are designed and how roles are divided between school authorities and partner schools.

You want guidance from a trainer with real experience of assessing applications.

The trainer has been assessing Key Action 2 applications for Erasmus+ National Agencies since 2020. In the seminar, you examine each application question against the four award criteria, with particular emphasis on impact.

What your participation includes

  • 16 hours of online training

The seminar takes place over four afternoons via Zoom and combines clear, detailed theory with practical exercises on the different sections of the application.

  • E-workshops in small groups

In each e-workshop, you work with other participants on hypothetical application examples based on real cases and present your group’s results to all participants.

  • Extra

    The seminar's Padlet

The Padlet brings together Erasmus+ Programme guides, application-writing checklists and useful links. Once you register, you can access all the materials and save them to your computer. Access remains active until one week after the seminar ends.

  • Extra

One-hour Q&A session before the submission deadline

About two weeks before the submission deadline, you meet the trainer online for one hour, and he answers the questions you have sent in advance about your own application.

  • Certificate of attendance

When you complete the seminar, you receive your certificate of attendance by email, at the address you provided when you registered.

After 16 hours, you will be able to:

  • understand the objectives, rules and policy framework of the KA240 action within Key Action 2.

  • read your application through an evaluator's eyes, knowing the four award criteria and the weight of each.

  • design the partnership's work packages, with tasks from both categories of the action and a clear division of roles between school authorities and partner schools.

  • substantiate the project's impact with qualitative and quantitative indicators suited to its objectives.

  • bring the sections of the application together into a complete and coherent proposal.

The seminar programme by day

The first two days are devoted to theory and the last two to practical group exercises, so that each day builds on the previous one.

  1. 1
    Day 1

The objectives and rules of the KA240 action

The first day presents the objectives of the action, the participation rules and the role of school authorities and schools in the partnership.

    Theory

    • Participants get to know each other and the seminar's expected learning outcomes are presented.
    • The objectives of the action are presented, together with the policy framework of the European Education Area and the Union of Skills to which it belongs.
    • The participation rules are presented, namely who applies, the composition of the partnership, the project duration and its funding, and are consolidated through hypothetical examples and comprehension questions.
  2. 2
    Day 2

    The KA240 award criteria

The second day analyses the four award criteria and how they guide the writing of the application.

    Theory

    • The four criteria are analysed, namely relevance, quality of project design, quality of the partnership and the cooperation arrangements, and impact, with particular emphasis on impact, which carries 35 of the 100 points.
    • Each criterion is linked to the application questions through examples and comprehension exercises.
  3. 3
    Day 3

    Tasks and work packages

The third day is devoted to practical exercises on designing work packages and dividing roles within the partnership.

    Practical exercises

    • Participants work in small groups in Zoom breakout rooms.
    • Each group selects the tasks of a hypothetical partnership, with at least one from each of the two categories of the action, and organises them into implementation work packages.
    • Each group then designs the two mandatory work packages, for project management and for long-term impact, and divides roles between school authorities and partner schools.
  4. 4
    Day 4

Impact and putting the application together

The fourth day links the expected impact to indicators, to the sharing of results and to their continued use after the project ends.

    Practical exercises

    • The groups substantiate impact with qualitative and quantitative indicators and plan how the results will be shared and sustained.
    • Each group presents its work to all participants and receives targeted feedback before the seminar closes.

What participants say about our seminars

«The seminar I attended was very interesting and informative, with many useful details. Above all, though, it gave me confidence and encouragement to write the application. Many, many congratulations.»
«I attended Mr Barmpas's training on writing an accreditation application for our school. His guidance was complete and structured, and his workshops helped me greatly to understand the steps towards a good application.»
